Service Description
Appointed Person & Basic Life Support (BLS) Training If your workplace First Aid Needs Assessment has identified that an Appointed Person is all you require, there is no legal requirement for them to hold a formal First Aid qualification. But that doesn't mean they can't be prepared. Our 3-hour Appointed Person and Basic Life Support (BLS) course in Hull gives learners essential life-saving knowledge and the confidence to respond should an emergency occur. The session covers: The role of an Appointed Person Responding to an emergency Assessing an unresponsive casualty Recognising cardiac arrest CPR Using an AED (defibrillator) Recognising and responding to choking Calling the emergency services Who is it for? This course is ideal for Appointed Persons in smaller or lower-risk workplaces, employees who would benefit from basic life-saving skills, and businesses wanting to improve First Aid awareness without putting staff through a full-day qualification where this isn't required by their First Aid Needs Assessment. Why train your Appointed Person? An Appointed Person may be responsible for taking charge of First Aid arrangements and calling the emergency services, but they are not required to be a qualified First Aider. Giving them some basic life-saving skills means that if a colleague suffers a cardiac arrest, begins choking or becomes unresponsive, they have the knowledge and confidence to help while emergency assistance is on its way. Hopefully they'll never need it - but a few hours of training could make an enormous difference. Duration: 3 hours Location: Louis Pearlman Centre, Hull Price: £29 per person Group booking discounts available. CPD certificate provided. Please note: This course does not replace Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or First Aid at Work (FAW) where your First Aid Needs Assessment identifies that qualified First Aiders are required.
