The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Principles and Practice of Moving People Safely (RQF) is a regulated qualification designed for those who assist and move people as part of their work. Ideal for staff working in care homes, domiciliary care, supported living, healthcare and other care and support settings, this course combines essential knowledge with practical, hands-on training. Learners will develop the knowledge and skills needed to support people more safely, while considering the needs, abilities and dignity of the individual being assisted. Practical training gives learners the opportunity to develop their moving and handling skills using equipment commonly found within care environments. At Hull Safety Training, this can include a mobile hoist and slings, Sara Stedy/standing transfer aid and care bed, helping learners relate their training to situations they may encounter in the workplace. Our approach is practical and engaging, with an emphasis on understanding why safer moving and handling techniques are used rather than simply learning a sequence of movements. Training is delivered by experienced registered healthcare professionals, bringing real-world knowledge of movement, mobility and supporting people safely into the training environment.
